From inception, the NIBTT team together with
Bouygues Batiment Trinidad and Tobago Construction Company Limited and WSP
Caribbean Limited envisioned an iconic structure that would redefine the
building industry of Trinidad and Tobago through the implementation of
sustainable operations to decrease the impact on the environment and improve
the quality of life of its occupants and neighbouring community.
The outcome is 99,780 square feet of highly
interactive and efficiently operated corporate, commercial and retail
spaces. These are contained within five (5) floors conducive to working
SMART and enhancing overall wellbeing and wellness.
In
defining these innovative workspaces, the team strategised on areas such as
potable water reduction, energy consumption and indoor air quality.
This building reflects NIBTT’s commitment to a
sustainable environment and the National Insurance System. It was designed
with the capacity to house all of the organisation’s business units ensuring
that NIBTT will be saving on rentals, overheads and operating costs. The
viability of the National Insurance Fund is dependent on a positive return
from this investment.
